The 2 factions instead have turned their eyes to other frontiers.

Having allies is a strong advantage, and the Drakken are in the lead here, their skill in diplomacy has granted them strong and reliable allies, those like the roving clans, and vaulters, while the Allayi have only the wild walkers to fight with, to attack the Drakken is to attack almost all of Auriga's civilizations.

Allies isn't everything, A strong military is needed to defend from foreign invaders, and to stop aggressive civilizations from expanding, The Allayi are few in number but are heavily skilled in combat. The Drakken have more numbers, but their military is not as experienced, preferring the pen to the sword.

While the Allayi may be able to best the Drakken on land, the same can not be said for the sea, warships is not just a matter of manpower, but also resources and industry, the Drakken have more numbers, and can have more cities, which bring in more industrial output. This means the Drakken can essentially outfight the Allayi in the seas.

But fighting in the seas is not the main factor for control of the ocean, it is the Morgawr island the lies between the Drakken and Allayi, for whoever controls or allies the Morgawr, will control the seas.

This cold war can turn hot if the Drakken choose so, but due to the Drakkens desire for peace, the most that can happen in this cold war are proxy wars of 2 sides fighting each other being supported by either the Drakken or the Allayi.
