The Eupaths are a very complex species with extreme diverse lifecycles, spanning from spores over hexapods to living ships. 


-They try to colonize frontier planets with rich biospheres to get bonuses for early colonizing and spread their sphere of influence, which will help them to get more diplomatic bonuses to calm other empires.


-Try to avoid wars, as their living ships are part of the empires mind and losing them could cause much unhappiness and trouble.


-The Psychic mesh shall be spread all over the universe to unite every living being in peace and harmony through pure insight and sympathy. Without force and losing of individual self.


Psychic mesh: As infectious spores the Eupaths are able to incorporate their genome in stable form into other lifeforms and every infected organism can be sensed by any grown Eupath. On this way they can get strong bonuses for happiness and science from worlds with rich environments. They can also spread their spores throughout the galaxy with their sphere of influence and affect and understand other species.


The Eupaths evolved in an extremely changing environment. Compared to earths flora and fauna they could be part of a crossover between fungi and animals. Starting as a kind of parasitism they gained the ability to infect genomes of other organisms to co-reproduce through them. But with the millennia and with the growing of consciousness they were aware of not only their own feelings but also of all of their former victims. With time they learned to understand all the complicated relations on their planet and they came to the conclusion, that all the surrounding life should not be interfered with but protected from alien threads and that others should participate in this great understanding. They never would force someone into their opinions, as they would feel the guilt and agony so much stronger. But they started to show other species parts of their psychic mesh and from time to time they were able to convince individuals by these insights. In time they looked up to the stars and started to use their abilities to form powerful bio-machines and to alter themselves to be able to travel through space and spread over new worlds.


-living ships are part of population and slowly evolve with technological progress/fights but as they are part of the psychic mesh they reduce happiness in a minor way just for being built/born (for space is empty and sad ;) ) and in a major way if they are destroyed. So fleets are limited and precious.

-early settling spores grant bonuses in early phase of colonization and can reduce penalties if there are enough species to infect and gain knowledge of the environment. These bonuses could become handicaps, if there are too few or none recent species.

-sometimes they get an unwanted blink at the thought of other intelligent beings, which were infected by their spores by chance. This could lead to new technological advancements but sometimes also in the decline of diplomatic relations.

-war is nearly a no go as an aggressor. Because the fear and sorrows of the frontier worlds will spread through all your systems, which will hardly be understood by all your citizens.
