I'm not sure this one fits the contest desciption- they want a population quest, which means it needs to work for any empire with Unfallen in it. So the inclusion of vines might not work as non-unfallen empires cannot manipulate these anyway.
Regardless, overloading Sophon minds with raw energy is a really fun idea! It has a definite mad-scientist vibe to it!
Yeah I understand that the debuff isn't what we usually aim for when we're making a quest but the idea behind it is to create a tension where the player have to react quickly to overcome the situation. But It could also be a limited number of turns to achieve the quest so there's no debuff. I think both could work even if I personally like the idea of a debuff. I'm reworking the rewards at the moment to be more specific with it, thanks for the feedback!
After checking with quaedam, we'll have to do away with the debuff (it's more of an event thing) and the consequences (same reason), also giving population would mean that you need to add to the objective to keep an available slot for this extra pop.
