Inspired by Ancient Egyptian, it (fictionally) means "Shadowed Watchers" and is pronounced [wer-SHUSH-wh-too].

The prompt gave me "ancient; as old or older than the Endless," and I immediately knew it deserved something special. A primordial race deserves a primordial language, so I looked to one of the oldest known languages of our world -- Egyptian (Bonus: Egyptian was used near the geographical start of our own species). I searched for words that complemented the prompt and narrowed it down to four words:

Manuel de Codage
Approximate Pronunciation
English Definition
pAwtypaow-tyman of ancient family
Swytshwetshadow
wrSywur-shyewatcher; sentry
wnwtyoo-nu-tyhour watcher; astronomer

Note: when a word is plural an "oo" sound is added to the end of the singular, so, for example, "pAwty" becomes "pAwtyw" and the definition becomes "men of ancient families." Also, adjectives must match their subject

I examined each word based on their meaning and how they paired with other words. I evenutally threw out "astronomer" because I figured this species is more interested in the people living amongst the stars rather than the stars themselves, and "man of ancient family" because this species seems more than just descendants of an ancient people; they seem like they are the ancient people. I was also just satisfied with how I was able to mash the remaining "watcher" and "shadow."

Note: I wanted to respect that adjective comes after subject in Egyptian, so "watcher" correctly should come before "shadowed"

Just to give you a feel...
