Academy Grants are influenced by how much Dust was paid in contributions, as far as I know, so if empires don't really invest in the bidding war, then you get very little Dust. Do you by chance remember how much had been contributed to the academy in the previous request phase? (I know it's been a while since this was filed.)

Well, we can assume it might have been more or the same of that AI would contribute under the circumstances. I do remember specifically picking the "master of dust" to the top of my preferences so it was probably somewhere around 2 - 5k dust?
