In the Options menu, there's 4 sliders for Audio:


  • Master volume
  • Music volume
  • SFX volume
  • GUI volume

Fiddling with them has had... interesting results.


First, I've put the Master volume at 42% to keep the volume at a reasonable level. However, that also had the side effect of making the introductory cutscenes too soft to hear. Should probably have the audio normalizers look at that so I don't have to choose between barely hearing the intro & blowing out my eardrums once the game proper starts.


Second, apparently the main entry in the SFX category is a bunch of ambient background noise the music usually covers up? Why does that have an entire category to itself? I turned the music to 0% to keep it from drowning out my podcasts, only to have the ambient noise drown out my podcasts instead. Does the SFX category cover any other sound effects? If not, why does the ambient noise have its own category?
