I guess I would prefer a list of dos and don'ts over 1 hour video for 10 turns of the game.
Diguising this as overall combat tips is kinda misleading given it's a T1 combat strategy, which is simply stopmed by "do single tech in military tree and retrofit, you are in T2 combat zone now and autowin".

I saw a great combat basics video for EL - changed the game for me completely. 

It explained the stats, the mechanics of combat, how to control your units, unit default stances - everything you needed to know about combat. 

I wish I could find something like that for ES2.    I'm lost in combat in this game.   I'm so desperate I'm going to see if I can find the manual!
