The quarks are fermions that compose hadrons.Leptons is another category of fermions.

But yeah it was a wrong description.

Did somebody say quarks?

But yeah, some things are descriptive, others are just, what :P

careful people,

youll give someone a hadron with all this particle talk

Better than an exciton, which is a quasi-particle for solid state physicists only.

Okay...

Quarks, no matter if up-, down-, strange-, charm-, bottom- or topflavoured, are fermions. Leptons (electron, muon, tau and all neutrinos) are fermions, too.

The force-carriers, namely the photon, gluons, W[SUP]+[/SUP], W[SUP]-[/SUP] and Z[SUP]0[/SUP] are bosons.

See good old wikipedia http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/00/Standard_Model_of_Elementary_Particles.svg for reference.

I have to admit that this thread has some qualities as a standup comedy show, but please tell people the truth in the end, otherwise they end up asking innocent physicists ridiculous questions. smiley: stickouttongue

Thanks for describing it in detail.

Which is the purpose of an air guitar.

Even when you don't hold one, you hold one. Or maybe it holds you ? I never remember.

On the research that grants the most powerful beam weapons, the description states that gluons are quarks, instead of the leptons they are in reality, this just annoyed me as most descriptions are quite accurate and real-world-based.

True, but calling a lepton a quark is inaccurate

That's my point.

and i've just realised, i didn't mean lepton, i meant boson
