Hey everyone,

The Victor OpenDev is not a finished product, so you might run into some bugs.

Of course, we're interested in hearing from you if you run into any problems, but there are some issues we already know about, so you don't need to spend your time reporting them. We've compiled these in the list below.

If you run into any problems not on this list, please check out the Guide to Bug Reporting before you post a thread.

  • There may be bugs in the map caused by editing it by hand
  • The Tech Tree mistakenly displays Naust instead of Harbor for all cultures
  • Ideologies may display debug text in their tooltip
  • Emojis in text fields create serious issues
    • Workaround: Don't use emojis
  • User Interface may show display errors after a battle
    • Workaround: Open and close the game menu (default: ESC)
  • Controller support is not ready yet; while you can use one, it will not work everywhere. For example:
    • Cannot scroll the UI with a controller
    • Using a controller to search tech may leave you unable to proceed
    • Renaming something with a controller without other peripherals connected may leave you unable to proceed
  • Changing hotkeys while in game triggers the associated action
  • Resources may be wrongly unavailable for purchase in the Diplomacy screen
    • Workaround: Click directly on the resource extractor to purchase
  • Naval trade routes do not show jetties or trade route pins to ransack
  • Sometimes naval trade routes cannot be created for resources in multi-territory cities
  • The AI may not construct many warships yet
  • The yield preview of Famers quarters may be incorrect for nearby rivers
  • Emblematic military districts (e.g. Assyrian Dunnu) are currently missing their free placement
  • The Fortification adjacency bonus of the Cyclopean Fortress may not be functional
  • Hunnic Hordes and Mongol Hordes don't gain food from battles
  • Units or armies may turn invisible
    • Workaround: Save and reload the game
  • AI may not reinforce battles
  • Clicking "Locate Event" on diplomatic notifications may show you interacting with yourself.
    • Workaround: Close the Diplomacy screen and open it through the top left icon.
  • Receiving diplomatic offers from two AIs in the same turn may rarely leave you unable to proceed
  • Some diplomatic badges may not trigger or apply their effects
  • Making a Demand may remove other Grievances in the same territory
  • Force Surrender may remain available even if the opponent regains war support
  • "Refused Surrender" modifier may not be applied
  • The Narrator should be disabled, but may appear in some (incorrect) places
