Unfortunatly i have a Macbook that is not cooperating in finding the files you need, but it has a 100% redoability, happens everytime

The '-compat' switch is required for me to play the game at all as all of the various command screens flicker crazily without it and, on the main space exploration screen, the overlays are too transparent (sometimes to the point of being difficult to read). With the '-compat' switch, all of the screens work and now the Diplomacy screen works as well.

Hi guys, still encountering this issue. But the game just freeze now, no more crash. I have to end it manually by placing a virtual pillow on it's mouth and nose and tell him all is going to be well...

If you still encounter this issue with the 1.0.47, please post your Player.log file in this thread :
You can find it here: User/YOUR_USER_NAME/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log
We need to add manually you configuration system to the compat fix.

Having the same problem, and I just downloaded the game today, so I guess that "Target Locked" update didn't do anything to address this problem.

Have the same problem.
The game freezes when I try to go into diplomacy tab.

Same issue here (cannot get the beta code to work, more than happy to test any potential fixes). I am having the same problem described above and have a ticket opened with support (205001) with system specs. Anything that I can do to help give any info on this? I love the game that I can play, but can't get past any part needing diplomacy as I cannot see the screen.

Ok, we tried a fix for this issue. Could you test it and tell me if you still have it or not?

For that, you need to start the game from a new version:

  • Right click on the game in your Steam Library 
  • Select Properties
  • Select the Betas tab
  • Enter the password: MacShaderTest
  • The new build for the game will be available
  • Select the mactesting build in the drop down list

With this new version, you can load a previous save and try to access to the Diplomacy screen.
If you still have a freeze/crash, could you send me the Diagnostics and Output logs file?

The Diplomacy Bug on Macs is still there. I've had the game for months and I can't get any where past turn 15 or so. C'mon, guys!!!

Hi guys we're still working on it. 


Our hardware panel for testing is limited and we can't manage to reproduce the crash with our Mac computers.

We're looking into other sources of hardware to test on, but it delays ou work quite heavily.

We are not giving up on fixing the issue though, it's just going to take longer than originally expected.


We're really sorry about that and hope you understand :/

I'm having the same problem too. It seems that it only crashes when you click on the Diplomacy tab though and not the individual empire markers on my game. I've been having this bug since release. Running on MacOS. Hope it gets fixed soon!
