Obviously, me too. :D I had quite a brainstorm to come up with my achievement and I enjoyed this contest a lot! 


But I would be honest. I am really sad by the current situation with this vote. I do not mean anything personally, but I find "Home is where the heart is" achievement is so boring and yet it leads with incredible score... You can call me salty because I am second ATM, but you can trust me - I won't mind losing to any other option, except for this one.


I like every other achievement in this category, except for the ColdSn4p's variant. When I was thinking about interesting achievement to come up with, I skipped dozens of simple ideas like his, I thought that they are unoriginal, not really The Achievement and I was sure that when devs created this contest, they expected something more original. I see funny point in dismissing hero in space travel, interest to pull AndreasK's and satoru's achievements and value in "Oh shi~" moment when you would get "Bad news, everyone!", but colonize one planet of each type is kinda unoriginal. You would get it after most of the wins anyway...


But, to be fair, if people vote for it, maybe I'm missing the point. But for now I'm really depressed to see this achievement as the most interesting we could come up as community together.


And yet again, I'm not attacking anyone personal. I really love all of you guys, you all are the part of the great community. Just talking about this vote.

To be honest it sounds like an achievement that would have been in the game anyways to me. I am surprised it leads and by this much. But hey if people like it, it should win. People have different tastes and that is okay.

Since I'm mentioned I think I should respond.


First let me thank everybody who voted for my idea, I never expected it to reach the final 6 and even less be in that position at this time. No matter who wins in the end, I think most of the idea are good and should be in the game in one form or another. It would be silly to waste such good ideas because someone else proposed another unrelated one that had slightly more support.


Secondly concerning the criticism my suggestion received, I perfectly understand it. My suggestion is very basic but for me it represent what an achievement should be: something you are proud to obtain and can work to get. I'm a completionist and enjoy getting every challenging achievement a game has to offer and for that reason I don't really like achievements that are either out of your control (requiring the AI to do something very specific) or feel artificial and either would force you to play very sub-optimally to get or are very easy to get in 2 minutes in a custom game if you aim for it. That's why I proposed something that may be very basic but still should feel great for new players to unlock as the game acknowledge that their empire is now a vast one sprawling across a great number of worlds. Sure originality is great and my suggestion is more bland than the other ones, but for me an achievement should be the proof of you achieving something while playing the game, not just a quick joke or a tedious "side-quest" with a witty reference, I would rather put such things as small easter-eggs inside the game*. I think more people than I though share this kind of feeling and this would explain the current status of the vote.


* for example Groud Control To Major Tom could be a perk (with for example a small bonus to assignment cooldown) that your hero has a small chance of getting when getting dismissed from a fleet between system. The name could be kept has a flavor text you get when hovering to see the effect of the perk or the source of the bonus depending on how such thing would be implemented.

I'm a completionist myself and I believe that your achievement is too basic, nothing memorable at all. It's one of those achievements that you would get first without even reading them all, like "kill 10 enemies" or "find first rune". It's not challenging, you would get this achievement automatically after first expansion or elimination victory - I don't think your option really fits even in your way of thinking about achievements. Sorry, that's what I think about this. Enjoy your prize.

I don't understand the "I don't need to cheat to win". You want people to play with Sophon, and force them to the exact contrary they should do to have this achivement ?

As a hidden one maybe, but someone who try to have it will only be bored by the game this way... For me, an achivment shouldn't be against the gameplay, it shouldn't encourage you to something that is not how the game "should be played", if we can say a game should be play a way or another...
