CREATING THE SPY FACTION, PART 6 ENCORE: NAME

We're one step closer to knowing who our espionage faction is! Last week, you upvoted the names you liked best so we could pick our favorite three, and now, it's time to vote for the final name that'll be the faction's!

As a reminder, here is what the previous votes have determined so far:

- Species type: Alien (a non-human species)

- Species origin: Ancient (as old or older than the Endless, and hasn't been shaped or tampered with by them)

- Species morphology: Wraith (an incorporeal life form)

- Species visual design: Shadow Wraith (A ghostly cloud form)

- Species ship type: Monolith Wraith

Remnants makes sense due to them being an ancient faction as old or older than the endless. Tho Choir is not too bad either.

Even though Umbrail Choir carries nice sense, it sounds awful. Xitharri remnants it is.

Can it just be the Xitharri, there’s already a Remnants faction so it seems a little repititious.

Also the other two don’t sound “Alien” like many of the original names (Vodyani, Sophons, Lumeris, Horatio) are non-English derived, with the Vaulters and United Empires names making sense as “Human” factions. It feels as if names like Riftborn and Unfallen have set precedent to sacrifice unique names for those that are easy to pronounce for English speakers. That’s just really dissapointing especially as this new faction is clearly “Alien” and clearly “Ancient” yet two of the chosen names in this contest are seemingly geared toward English speakers and/or chosen b/c they’re easy to pronounce.

Anyway that’s just my 2 cents

Cool to see that the one of the most popular ones Lífþrasir (Lifthrasir) not included. I'm kidding - I'm disapointed, what was the point of voting? To discount the name just based on how hard it is to pronounce is absurd (It's not all that hard to pronounce, and I have have a terrible lisp). I'll end up voting for the Umbral Choir seeing how it's one of the few ones who actually got a good amount of votes prior. I know now not to be optimistic about the votes system.

Definitely, have to say that I like Xitharri more then Umbral Choir. Umbral Choir is definitely a cool name and all but It doesn't fit in naming a race. What do you call them for a single person of their race? A choiran? Xitharri has more of an "alien" name to it and it allows for the race to be called something that can be used for more than just the race name.
Xitharri gains my vote.

I personally prefered my own "The eternal". Thought it fit their backstory and mystical nature better.
But never mind...
Umbral choir sounds better. Has meaning afterall.

I am agree with you also, I am very disapointed by this selection of three names. I voted for Xitharri Remnants but it's not a real choice :/

They had previously mentioned exactly how it was going to happen. They made it clear that the most voted wouldn't necessarily be chosen. I must say I'm biased, since I didn't like Lifthrasir much, but also have in mind that they had a lot of arguing to choose these 3 only and I'm sure they had good reasons not to go with the top 3. After all, if they'd just pick the top 3, there'd be no need for the current voting.
